11.8.Adding a robot to a fleet
To add a robot to the fleet, a computer must be connected to the OTTO autonomous mobile robot (AMR)
and the robot must be connected to the network. It is also assumed that OTTO Fleet Manager has been
fully deployed.
1. Connect a computer to the AMR using an Ethernet cable [40].
2.Accessing Robot Configuration
• Open OTTO Fleet Manager Robot Configuration by entering https://<AMR hostname/IP
address>:port number in the address bar of a supported browser, using the following port:
Port 8090
For example:
http://<AMR IP address>:8090
3. Under VPN Settings, enter the OTTO Fleet Manager Hostname (or IP). If, and only if the network
has a functional DNS setup, the OTTO OTTO Fleet Manager hostname may be used instead of the
IP address.
In a multi-host deployment, this will be the Core VM IP address.
The IP address will work if OTTO Fleet Manager has a static assigned, dedicated IP address (i.e. the
OTTO Fleet Manager IP cannot change). The hostname will only work if the network has a properly
configured and functional DNS.
4. Enter the VPN Port and VPN Password for the facility. The default port number is 655 and the
password is "clearpath".
5. Select Exchange VPN Keys.
6. Verify the robot is now connected to OTTO Fleet Manager:
a. In a new browser tab, open OTTO Fleet Manager.
b. Navigate to Monitor > Robots and in the list of fleet robots that is displayed, verify the new
robot has been added. Note that it may take a few minutes for the robot to be displayed.
c. If the robot does not connect to OTTO Fleet Manager or is not added to the fleet, restart the
robot and OTTO Fleet Manager.
d. If adding the robot to an existing OTTO Fleet Manager that has already been configured,
restart all jobs in the job queue.
11.9.OTTO App
OTTO App is the core robot operating system for autonomous mobile robots. It iswhat transforms
industrial material handlingequipment into robots that canautomate moving material, while enabling
control and workflow creation for a single robot.
The main functions of OTTO App include:
• Driving the associated OTTO robot
• Recording and updating a facility map
• Map configuration using endpoints and establishment of traffic rules
• Creation of basic workflows to get an OTTO robot to work right away
If managing a fleet of robots using OTTO Fleet Manager, use OTTO App to record a facility map, which
can then be exported and uploaded to OTTO Fleet Manager for advanced editing and use by a fleet of
robots.
