1. Start up the AMR [38].
2. Remove any present paylods.
3. Press an Emergency Stop button.
4. Observe that the AMR stops and indicates an emergency stop state [31].

LiDAR safety scanner function check
See theComponents Overview [26]for details on button locations and robot state indicators.
1. Start up the AMR [38].
2. Place a potential obstacle on the floor. Note that the object must be large enough to be above the
LiDAR safety scanning plane.
3. Drive the AMR autonomously using OTTO App, making sure that its path will encounter the test
obstacle.
4. Confirm the AMR attempts to avoid the obstacle.
5. If the AMR does not attempt to avoid the obstacle, troubleshoot the issue [50].
Cleaning the LiDAR
When dust and debris accumulate on the LiDAR safety scanner lens, a robot may safety stop
unexpectedly. For optimal performance, ensure the LiDAR safety scanner lens and LiDAR cavity are clean.
CAUTION
SHOCK HAZARD! Always perform the lock-out/tag-out procedure at the facility or on the
product before inspecting, servicing, cleaning, removing components, or opening any
enclosure.
See the Components Overview [26] for more detail on LiDAR safety scanner locations.
