Replacing battery cells
Batteries are considered non-serviceable, and if faulty within the warranty period should
be returned via the normal channels to Codan. The instructions below are general.
To replace the battery cells:
1 Stand the battery pack on its base.
1 Remove the 10 screws from the lid of the battery pack.
1 Lift the lid away from the base carefully, taking care with the attached PCB.

1 Disconnect the black wire by easing its connector away from the PCB.
1 Disconnect the red wire by easing its connector away from the PCB.
WARNING
Battery cells are electrically live at all times and must be treated with
extreme caution. They may supply high short-circuit currents even if they
appear to be damaged or inoperable.
WARNING
The PCB must be disconnected from the batteries before replacing
the cells. You must disconnect the PCB in the specific order stated
below.
