This
command,
chr$(24) ,
is
the cancel
command.
It
cancels all
information
currently in the buffer
when
it
is
received. For cancel
to
work
properly,
it
must
be sent to the
MPS
1200 before the buffer
is
emptied
(that is, before a carriage
return
is
sent and before a full
line
of
characters have been sent).

The
master
reset
command,
ESC
@,
which
we
discussed in
Chap-
ter 3, cancels all
information
in the buffer
just
as
the cancel
com-
mand
does. But, in addition, it resets all
print
funCtions to their
default setting.
