3.2.3 Stub Cleaning
When you repeat adhering specimen to Stub and removing it from stub many times, stub
gets dirty. If it is dirty, fixing specimen can be difficult or there can be disorder in chamber.
Therefore, the stub should be cleaned regularly.
Preparations
The procedures for stub cleaning are as follows.
1) When you adhere specimens to Stub using carbon tape
repeatedly, Stub surface gets dirty.
2) First, fold several sheets of wiper and sprinkle acetone
on it.
3) Face the stub surface downwards.
4) Clean the surface while rubbing stub from side to side.
Residue of carbon tape adhered to stub is removed
completely after repeating many times.
