To cancel the mode, press it again.
To cancel the presently heard traffic information and stand by for
the next traffic information from the same station, press it twice
in succession.
3. Preset memory of RDS stations
This unit is equipped with an auto-follow function. Should the
signal of the broadcasting station currently being received begin
to fade out, the unit will automatically tune into another, stronger,
station broadcasting the same program. If this function is triggered
while listening to an RDS station you have called up from the preset
memory, the memorized frequency of the RDS station is changed
automatically to that of the new station the unit tunes in.
4. PI(Program Identification) seek
When the preset button is pressed to call a broadcast station,
auto seek(PI seek) will begin to operate if the broadcast station
called is an RDS station and the reception status is poor. Then,
the same PI station with a stronger signal is received. In like
manner, auto seek(PI seek) will function if an RDS station is
selected when the radio is tuned on.
If you listen to any other station than TP or EON linked
stations for more than 30 seconds with TP MODE ON/OFF
button on, an alarm sounds. To stop the alarm, press this
button again.
NOTE
PTY MODE OPERATION
1. PTY mode on/off button (12)
Press this button to get the PTY mode. The indicator "PTY" appears
in the display. After 10 seconds this mode is canceled
automatically.
To cancel this mode immediately, press it again.

Procedure
Press the tuning up or down buttons
within 10 seconds after selecting the PTY
mode. Each time the tuning up button is
pressed the indicator will be switched in
following sequence.

When the tuning down button is pressed,
the order is reverse.
Press the tuning up or down buttons for
1.5 seconds or more. The unit receives
the station of the indicated PTY code.
If there is no proper station, "NO PTY"
appears on the display. And the unit
receives the station which was received
before the PTY search.
