The cooling system is filled with an
ethylene glycol base coolant.
In the correct concentration the coolant
provides excellent corrosion and freeze
protection for the entire cooling and heating
system and must therefore not be replaced
by plain water even in summer.
The coolant level should be between "MIN"
and "MAX" mark on the coolant surge tank
when the engine is cool. The level rises at
engine operating temperature and drops
again when the engine cools down.
If the level falls below the "MIN" mark, add
enough 50/50 water and ethylene glycol
anti-freeze mix, to provide freezing and
corrosion protection.

If you find a leak or other damage, or if
coolant is still leaking, do not run the engine
until these problems have been corrected.
Consult your Dealer immediately.
OVERHEATING
If the engine coolant temperature gauge
shows an overheating condition or you
have other reason to suspect the engine
may be overheating, stop and park the
vehicle. The air conditioning must be off.
Leave the engine idling for a few minutes
and check that the cooling fan is operating.
If the fan is not operating, turn the ignition
off and consult your Daewoo dealer
immediately.
If steam is coming from the engine
compartment, don't go near front of the
vehicle. Stop the engine. Then turn the
ignition switch on without starting the
engine. The cooling fans will start to cool
the engine.
Open the engine hood only after steam is
no longer escaping from the engine and
idle the engine until it cools.
If the fan is operating but the temperature
is not lowered, stop the engine and let it
cool.
Then, check the coolant level. If it's low,
look for leaks in the radiator hoses and
connections, heater hoses and
connections, radiator, water pump.
Do not remove the coolant surge tank
cap when the engine and radiator are
hot. Scalding hot coolant and steam may
be blown out under pressure, which
could cause serious injury.
Do not allow antifreeze to make
contact with the skin or eyes. If this
should happen, rinse the affected
areas immediately with plenty of
water, and consult a doctor if any
irritation occurs.
WARNING
Do not OVERFILL.
Use only soft(demineralized) water in
the coolant mixture.The engine in
your vehicle has aluminum engine
parts and must be protected by an
ethylene-glycol based coolant to
prevent corrosion and freezing.
DO NOT USE alcohol or methanol
antifreeze or mix them with the
specified coolant.
If frequent additions are required, see
your Dealer for a cooling system check.
