Carriage Adjustment
NOTE : The standard, Full Free Lift and Full Free
Triple Lift carriage load bearings are all adjusted the
same way. The Full Free Triple Lift carriage is shown
in the following illustrations.
To make the carriage clearance adjustments,
carriage must be removed from the mast.
Use the procedure that follows to adjust carriage load
bearings.
Carriage Adjustment
(1) Screw. (2) Retainer. (3) Bearing. (4) Shims. (5) Bearing.
(6) Shims. (7) Pin. (8) Bolt. (9) Roller. (10) Adjust Pin.
(11) Roller. (12) Nut. (13) Bolt. (A) Zero Clearance.
(B) 1.5 mm Clearance. (C) 9.0 to 12.0 mm overlap.
1. Equally shim both sides until clearance (B) is
made (1.5 mm clearance) between bearings and
inner mast at narrowest posit.
2. On full free lift model, shim bolt as needed to
obtain a 9.0 to 12.0 mm (.354 to .472 in) overlap
(C) between bolt (13) and the carriage stop on the
inner upright.
3. Torque for screw (1) .......30
L 7 N¥m (22 L 5 lb¥ft)
4. Refer to ÒCarriage AssemblyÓ of Disassembly &
Assembly.
Chain Adjustments
Chain Adjustment Check
Lift the carriage and mast high enough to put their
full weight on the carriage and mast chains. Check
the chains, and make sure the tension is the same.
Chain Adjustment
If the tension is not the same on both chains, do the
procedure that follows:
Personal injury can be caused by sudden
movement of the mast and carriage. Blocks must
be used to prevent the mast and carriage from any
movement while the adjustments are made. Keep
hands and feet clear of any parts that can move.
Inner Lift Chains
(1) Chain Anchor Nuts.
1. Lift the mast and carriage and put blocks under
the mast and carriage to release the tension from
the lift chains.
