5.3 Power supply systems in multiple dwelling units
(decentralised meter arrangement)
In what is referred to as the decentralised meter arrangement, you cannot use dLAN
to supply several housing units, since the local meters strongly attenuate the signals.
If all housing units are to be supplied with a dLAN signal from a central point,
central supply must take place over the antenna or telephone cable. The electrical
wiring can be used again for communication in the apartment however.

arrangement
A three-phase circuit also exists in each housing unit as well in this
example, but has been excluded from this illustration for the sake of clarity.
You shou
ld note that a decentralised meter arrangement does not eliminate
the possibility of crosstalk from one housing unit to another. If the
residential units are to be built side-by-side in mirror image, phase coupling
over the power lines in the individual apartments is possible, which could
possibly be routed in the same cable duct. However, by using non-standard
encryption (dLAN password) in a peer-to-peer network, you can prevent
unauthorised parties from gaining access to the encrypted data.
5.4 Power supply systems in large buildings
In larger buildings, the electrical wiring is different from that of residential ones
(even one with multiple housing units). A large building mainly has a main
distribution system, to which sub-distribution systems for individual floors or parts of
the building are connected in star configuration. Each sub-distribution system
