At the ECP the ECO identifies the wearer then removes the tally from the associated channel. The ECO records an exit
dosimeter reading if necessary and hands the tally to the wearer. On removing the tally, the channel screen begins to alternate
between the electronic monitoring system identification number and the Time of Whistle data.
The wearer should switch off the electronic monitoring system. A log-off signal will be transmitted from the electronic
monitoring system to the ECB. After up to 20 seconds the channel screen will switch off and the electronic monitoring system
will return to sleep mode.
Repeat the procedure for all logged-on units. The ECB will return to sleep mode when all electronic monitoring system have
been logged off.
5.6.2 Forced Log Off Procedure
If a permanent loss of the communication link has occurred, the ECO shall carry out the following forced log off procedure. This
procedure returns the ECB to sleep mode.
Press and then release the key of the keypad. The status display changes to show
QUIT.
Repeatedly press the or key of the keypad to scroll the display until LOGOFF is
shown and then press the key. The display will change to show CHAN 00 with the
numeric characters flashing.
Enter the channel number to be logged off using one of the following methods:
Press the appropriate numeric keys of the keypad. The numeric characters will stop
flashing and will change from the right as the number is entered.
Press the evacuation button of the appropriate channel. The channel number will be
entered automatically on the display.
Remove the tally, then press the key. The display changes to the selected channel
(e.g. CHAN04) with the no (N) symbol flashing. Use the or key to toggle yes (Y).
When CHAN04 Y is displayed press the key, the display will change to LOGOFF.
Repeat the procedure for any further modules requiring a forced log off.
NOTICE
The electronic monitoring system will remain in operating mode until it is switched off (deactivated).
NOTICE
Following the incident, a faulty tally (that required a manual logon procedure) must be reported and replaced as soon as
possible.
If a permanent loss of the communication link has occurred between the ECB and a logged-on electronic monitoring
system, carry out a forced log off (see Forced Log Off Procedure below).
NOTICE
A single sharp audible beep signal sounds each time a key is pressed.
NOTICE
If the tally has not been removed, the display will not toggle between N and Y.
