F.1 Retreat Alert
The operations described in this section (Page 46 to Page 48) are only available when the electronic monitoring system has
Retreat Alert functionality.
Log on the Entry Control Board as normal (see Making Contact: Section 5.2 on Page 13).
Once logged on, the channel screen shows the default information.
When the breathing apparatus wearer reaches the arrival point, they confirm arrival on the
electronic monitoring system.
The Bodyguard
®
display changes to show the Time to Retreat (TTR) with the time to
retreat icon .
The Connect ECU displays the arrival point for approximately 1 second as the system
calculates the mission retreat pressure. The new TTR then displays on screen.
Arrived (Arr) flashes on the corresponding channel screen of the Entry Control Board, and a
single double-beep sounds.
Acknowledge that the wearer has reached the arrival point by briefly pressing the channel
evacuation button . Once acknowledged, the Time to Retreat (TTR) in minutes displays
on the channel screen prefixed by the letter r (e.g. r 27).
When the retreat pressure is reached:
Bodyguard
®
: the retreat icon is displayed while a repeating audible beep alarm sounds.
Connect ECU: the retreat is displayed while an intermittent alarm tone sounds.
Retreat (rtrt) appears on the corresponding channel screen of the Entry Control Board, and a
single double-beep sounds. The red LED above the channel evacuation button flashes until
the wearer of the electronic monitoring system acknowledges the retreat alert. The LED then
illuminates continuously.
Acknowledge the retreat by pressing the channel evacuation button . Once acknowledged, the channel screen changes to
show the default information, and the board operates as normal.
NOTICE
There can be a short delay between the electronic monitoring system and the Entry Control Board signals as data
transmission occurs every 20 seconds.
