F.1.1 Early Retreat
The breathing apparatus wearer can activate an early retreat at the electronic monitoring
system by cancelling the retreat alert before the retreat pressure is reached. If an early retreat
is activated at the electronic monitoring system, the following indications occur on the Entry
Control Board:
The red LED above the channel evacuation button illuminates.
The voluntary withdrawal icon flashes amber.
Returning (rEt) appears on the channel screen.
A repeating double-beep sounds.
Acknowledge the early retreat by pressing the channel evacuation button .
Once acknowledged, the voluntary withdrawal icon illuminates continuously, the beeps
stop, and the channel screen changes to show the default information. The red LED above the
channel evacuation button remains illuminated and the board operates as normal.
F.1.2 Displaying Mission Status or Retreat Pressure
Selecting these options displays the current mission status or retreat pressure for each breathing apparatus wearer on the
channel screens. The chart below shows the typical mission phases and the related mission-status messages.
NOTICE
The mission status or the retreat pressure can be displayed at any time during a retreat alert mission. When either is
selected, after 10 seconds all active channel screens revert to the previous display.
Until the wearer confirms that they have reached the arrival point, the retreat pressure defaults to two-thirds of the cylinder
start pressure (e.g. 300 bar start pressure = 200 bar retreat pressure).
