5.4 Communication from ECB to Electronic Monitoring System
5.4.1 Evacuation Signal – Selective
This procedure allows the ECO to select and signal to a specific logged-on unit, or a
designated number of units (team), to evacuate the risk area and return to the control point.
ECO – Press and hold the selected channel evacuation button until the red LED above the
button begins flashing and a sharp double-beep is emitted, indicating the signal is being
transmitted.
Electronic monitoring system – The selected unit(s) emit a repeating audible beep alarm
and the evacuation symbol is shown on the electronic monitoring system display.
To acknowledge the evacuation request the wearer presses and releases the RH button
of the electronic monitoring system. When the RH button is released, the electronic
monitoring system display returns to the normal operating screen.
ECO – On acknowledgement of the evacuation signal from the wearer, a short trill alarm is activated on the ECB. The red
LED above the channel evacuation button stops flashing and illuminates continuously, indicating that the signal has been
received and acknowledged by the wearer.
5.4.2 Evacuation Signal – All
This procedure allows the ECO to signal to all logged-on units to evacuate the risk area and
return to the control point.
ECO – Press and hold the evacuation (all) button until the red LED to the right of the
button illuminates and begins flashing, and a double sharp beep is emitted. The red LED
above the channel evacuation button of each of the logged-on channels also begins
flashing, indicating the signal is being transmitted.
Electronic monitoring system – All units emit a repeating audible beep alarm and the
evacuation symbol is shown on the electronic monitoring system display.
To acknowledge the evacuation request the wearers press and release the RH button of
the electronic monitoring system. When the RH button is released, the electronic monitoring system display returns to the
normal operating screen.
ECO – On acknowledgement of the evacuation signal from each wearer a short trill alarm is activated on the ECB. The red
LED above the channel evacuation button of each acknowledged channel will stop flashing and illuminate continuously
indicating that the signal has been received and acknowledged by the wearer.
The red LED to the right of the evacuation (all) button flashes until the evacuation request has been acknowledged by
all logged-on units.
NOTICE
The sequence can be repeated as required until the wearer has returned to the control point.
