E.3 Customer Evaluation Trials
It is important to be aware that radio communication can be affected by a breakdown in the transmission signal due to extremes
of application such as long distances, building construction, below ground structures, etc. The chapters on propagation,
Repeaters and Leaky Feeders are intended to provide the user with a basic understanding of the factors that may affect the

To further the user’s understanding of the issues and the techniques that can be employed to enhance communication, Dräger
recommend that users familiarise themselves fully with the issues covered in the preceding chapters, and follow up by performing
their own evaluation training trials in simulated known hazard scenarios.
A Customer Evaluation Guideline booklet is available from Dräger on request.
