How to troubleshoot a Duke FBB-EO-208 when the control display does not light up?
    • D
      davidrodriguezAug 14, 2025
If the control display of your Duke Broiler does not light up, there are several potential causes. First, ensure that there is 208/240 VAC, 3 phase power at the receptacle, confirming the voltage matches the Serial Number Label, and check for 208/240 VAC line-to-line at the incoming terminal block. Next, verify that there is 208/240 VAC across the input/output of the On/Off switch. Also, check for 24 VAC across the transformer's secondary winding. Finally, inspect the wiring for any broken or improperly connected wires.

What to do if my Duke Broiler display flashes “PnL” & “oFF”?
    • A
      Amanda KempAug 18, 2025
If your Duke Broiler's display shows “PnL” & “oFF”, indicating a Panel Off Error, start by checking that the back panel and side panel are safely secured. Then, verify the alignment of the safety magnets on both panels. With the panels installed, check for continuity on the safety interlocks. Also, ensure that the mechanical relays energize when the panels are installed, and measure 24 VAC at the relay coils. Finally, check for 24 VAC on the secondary of the transformer.

Why does the cook chain on my Duke FBB-EO-208 either not move or run all the time?
    • T
      Timothy MartinezAug 21, 2025
If the cook chain of your Duke Broiler does not move or runs continuously, first ensure the discharge chute is properly in place. Check for any obstructions in the cook chain, such as the ash scraper, loader ramp, or flame arrestor, and adjust the ash scraper bracket if needed. Verify the cook chain is properly adjusted, potentially requiring shims behind or underneath the shaft bearings. Ensure the drive chain deflection is approximately 3/16”. Also, check that the motor sprocket is oriented correctly and tightened. Confirm the control signals the conveyor motor relay to energize. Verify the conveyor motor relay is closing, and replace the solid state relay if the conveyor motor runs non-stop. Finally, test the conveyor motor and capacitor for faults.

What does it mean when my Duke FBB-EO-208 display shows “Ht:x”?
    • N
      narroyoAug 26, 2025
If your Duke Broiler display shows “Ht:x” (where x is a number from 1 to 6), indicating a Heater Error, identify the correct heater location and test its continuity. Test the continuity of the appropriate fuse. Ensure the solid state relay switches ON/OFF at appropriate intervals and test for closed or open output conditions. Test the solid state relay inputs for the appropriate signal from the control. Check for broken or improper wire connections.

What does “Sr:Er” mean on my Duke FBB-EO-208 display?
    • M
      Mark JonesAug 28, 2025
If the Duke Broiler display shows “Sr:Er”, which indicates a failure of the “ALL OFF” Diagnostic Test, start by identifying the correct heater location and testing its continuity. Then, test the continuity of the appropriate fuse. Ensure the solid state relay switches ON/OFF at appropriate intervals and test for closed or open output conditions. Check for broken or improper wire connections. Ensure the diagnostic board powers on. Test solid state relay inputs for the appropriate signal from the control. Finally, measure continuity on the current sensors.

What does “hT:Er” mean on the display of my Duke FBB-EO-208 Broiler?
    • K
      Kristi GarrettAug 31, 2025
If your Duke Broiler display shows “hT:Er”, indicating a possible error during “PrE”, identify the correct heater location and test for continuity. Test the continuity of the appropriate fuse. Ensure the solid state relay switches ON/OFF at appropriate intervals and test for closed or open output conditions. Check for broken or improper wire connections. Check for missing or damaged panels.

What does “triP” mean on my Duke Broiler display?
    • J
      Jessica MillerSep 7, 2025
If your Duke Broiler display shows “triP”, test the continuity on the thermostat located on the relay heat sink. Ensure the cooling fan runs when the On/Off switch is turned ON. Clean the cooling fan and any other item that may be obstructing the relay heat sink from dissipating heat effectively.
