5 UPS system installation

This chapter gives instructions for the mechanical installation and the cable installation of the UPS. The
customer must provide the wiring to connect the UPS to the local power source.
The installation inspection and initial startup of the UPS must be carried out by an authorized Eaton
Customer Service Engineer or by other qualified service personnel authorized by Eaton. The installation
of the battery cabinets can be performed by qualified service personnel of the equipment manufacturer or
representative.
WARNING
To avoid injury to persons, or damage to the UPS or to the load equipment,
obey these instructions during the UPS system installation.
Before you install the UPS system, read and understand the following guidelines.
Read Chapter 4.1 About UPS installation for information on the cabinet dimensions, equipment weight,
wiring, terminal data, and other topics related to the UPS system installation.
Make sure that the tilting angle is not greater than ±10° when installing the cabinet.
If perforated floor tiles are required for proper air circulation, put them in front of the UPS.

The power and signal cables are installed through the gland plate at the rear of the cabinet. Refer to Figure
20:
