8. Tap on the Enter Bypass Mode icon on the system page, and press OK to switch to bypass
operations.
As a result, the UPS operates in Bypass mode, and the bypass indicator light is on.

To start the UPS on battery power and transfer it to Bypass mode.
1. Lightly press the battery startup/switch to bypass button. For the location of the button, refer to Figure
24: Communication interfaces.
2. When the UPS is in Online mode or ESS mode, press the battery startup/switch to bypass button for
10 seconds.
As a result, the UPS transfers to Bypass mode.

Complete the following steps to transfer the load to Bypass mode.
CAUTION
When the UPS is in Bypass mode, the critical load is not protected if any bypass
interruption or exception occurs.
1. Tap on the Control icon on the menu page to switch to the System Control page.
2. Press the Switch to Bypass icon on the System Control page.
If bypass is unavailable, the control unit continues operation and sounds an alarm.
Otherwise, the bypass power is supplied to the critical load immediately.
As a result, the system operates in Bypass mode, and the bypass indicator light is on. The UPS is at
Ready status, and the system is in Bypass Mode.

Complete the following steps to transfer the critical load to Online mode.
1. Tap on the Control icon on the menu page to switch to the System Control page.
2. Press the Start icon on the System Control page.
If the loading capacity of the UPS is insufficient, the system stays in Bypass mode, and the UPS
sounds an alarm.
Otherwise, the UPS system transfers to Online mode.
As a result, the UPS operates in Online mode and the online status indicator light is on. The system status
displayed is Online Mode.

NOTE: ESS is displayed only if the Advanced Energy Saving Solution (EAA) mode feature is enabled by
the facility or service personnel.
To transfer the load to ESS mode:
1. Select Control on the menu page, and enter the password to access the control page.
2. Select System on the control page to access the system page.
3. Tap on the Enable ESS icon on the system page, and select OK to confirm.
