UPSs in a parallel configuration require a dedicated branch circuit that meets the following requirements:
Three-phase, 4-wire plus ground, 208Y/120V nominal (BladeUPS 12 model) or 400Y/230V nominal, 380–
415 Vac acceptable (BladeUPS 12i model)
50/60 Hz
Wall-mounted breaker that is readily accessible to the operator
Flexible or rigid metal conduit
Circuit with overcurrent protection, depending on parallel configuration (see Table 2 )

Preparing the Rack
To prepare the rack for wiring:
1. Remove the accessory box that is located in the rear of the system behind the rack doors.
2. Verify that the following items are in the accessory box:
UPS documentation and software tools:
Software Suite CD and this user’s guide
BladeUPS: Documents, Firmware, and Installation Video CD
(2) Door Keys
CAN Bridge Card accessories:
(1) CAN Bridge Card Cable
(1) Redundant Signal Cable
Optional X-Slot card accessories
The preassembled system can be ordered with any of the optional X-Slot cards installed. Accessories
for installed cards are in the accessory box. Table 3 lists the cards and the associated accessories.
