6 Parameters
6.2 Digital and analog inputs
116 DC1 Frequency Inverter 10/12 MN04020003Z-EN www.eaton.com
6.2.3 Digital / analog outputs
DC1 series frequency inverters feature a digital/analog output and a relay out-
put with different characteristics.
Digital / analog output:
Transistor output DO (+24 V):
control signal terminals 8 and 9 (P-25 = 0, … ,7)
Analog output AO: (0 - +10 VDC, max. 20 mA):
control signal terminals 8 and 9 (P-25 = 8, 9)
Relay output K1 (250 V, 6 A AC / 30 V 5 A DC NO):
control signal terminals 10 and 11 (P-18)
In the default settings (P-25 = 8), the analog output’s voltage signal (0 - 10 V)
will be proportional to output frequency f
Out
= 0 - f
max
(P-01).
Example
Desired options:
Relay output K1 should output an alarm message if there is a 10 % over-
current.
Analog output AO should show the rated motor current within a range of
0 to 10 V for more precise monitoring (5 V = motor rated current (P-08)).
Figure 67: Example: Overcurrent monitor
If the motor (I
e
= 2.3 A) from Section “6.2.8 Motor“ is used as an exam-
ple, relay K1 will switch as soon as the motor draws a current of 2.53 A.
The analog output will output a voltage of 5.5 V. The frequency inverter will
then switch off automatically due to an overload (I
e
> 100 %). The following
error message will be displayed: I.t-trP
The output signal at
control signal terminal
8 (AO) is not monitored
by the frequency inverter.
