C.2.6 Calculating output variables with known input frequency
Use the following equations with a known input frequency for verification of a flow rate.
Select the proper equation depending on whether you are verifying a flow rate or a mass
flow rate.
To verify a volume flow rate
Perform the following calculation to verify a volume flow rate for a given frequency and
K-factor (compensated).
Conditions
Q = flow rate
F = frequency, measured in Hz
K = K-factor (compensated)
C
x
= the unit conversion (see Table C-1 on page 156)
Equation
To verify a standard or normal flow rate
Perform the following calculation to verify a standard or normal flow rate for a given
frequency and K-factor (compensated).
Conditions
Q = flow rate
F = frequency, measured in Hz
K = K-factor (compensated)
C
x
= the unit conversion (see Table C-1 on page 156)
Equation
To verify a mass flow rate
Perform the following calculation to verify a mass flow rate for a given frequency and
K-factor (compensated).
Conditions
M = flow rate
F = frequency, measured in Hz
K = K-factor (compensated)
ρ = density at operating conditions
C = the unit conversion
