Unlocking the Scanner
Before installing the automatic
document feeder and connecting the
scanner to a power source, you must
release the transportation lock on the
back of the scanner.
Use a coin or large flat-head screwdriver
to turn the transportation lock button
counterclockwise to the unlocked
position, as shown.
Always lock the transportation lock before moving the scanner. Whenever
the transportation lock is locked, the scanner lamp must be in the home
position (on the left side of the scanner). See “Transporting the Scanner”
on page 102 for more information.
