Replacing the Borderless Maintenance Boxes
The borderless maintenance boxes absorb ink during borderless printing. When you see a message on
the LCD screen, replace the borderless maintenance box indicated.
Note: Do not replace the borderless maintenance box while printing, otherwise ink may leak.
Note: The illustrations in this section may differ slightly from your product, but the steps are the same
unless noted otherwise.
1. Check the LCD screen to determine which maintenance box needs to be replaced.
Note: To view the replacement procedure on the LCD screen, press > Maintenance > Replace
Maintenance Box > Borderless Maintenance Box > How To....
2. Remove the new borderless maintenance box from the package.
Caution: Do not touch the chip on the borderless maintenance box or you may prevent normal
operation and printing.
Note: Do not reuse a borderless maintenance box you have removed from the printer and exposed
to air for a long period of time. The box will not absorb any more ink.
