6.1.5.2 Loops for MINI-LINK E Micro
Near-end Loops
Near-end loop tests are used to find out if and where the near-end ter minal is
faulty. The following near-end loop tests are available:
Tx Loop (E1:1 and
E1:2 in MSM)
The traffic signal to be transmitted is, immediately at
the input, looped back to the output on the receiving
side.
RF Loop
The RF signal to be transmitted is imm ediately before
the branching looped back to the receiving side.
Far-end Loop
Far-end loop tests are used to find out if and where the far-end terminal is
faulty. The following far-end loop test is available:
Rx Loop (E1:1 and
E1:2 in MSM)
The t raffic signal to be received is looped back t o
the transmitting side.

6.1.6 Test Por t
Each SMU and MMU has one test port on the front panel for traffic in/out
signals. Any traffic signal 2, 8 or 34 M bit/s can be connected t o this port.
The traffic channel can be monitored with for example an analyzer without
disturbing the traffic. A BER-meter can also be connected to the test por t.
