7.5 Terminal Server
The single-port terminal server enables integration of a MINI-LINK E
sub-network in an IP based Data Communication Network (DCN) that carries
O&M data. The basic function is interface conversion between RS 232C and
TCP/IP.
The ter minal server is connected to the O&M por t on the front-end terminal in
the sub-network. The connection to the DCN is IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T through
an RJ-45 connector.

The setup can be done locally from a ter m inal emulator, such as Windows
HyperTerminal. After the IP address has been set, a Telnet session will work
just as well.
