3.9 SMU – Switch Multiplexer Unit
The SMU provides 1+1 protection switching and/or multiplexing/demultiplexing
of 2 Mbit/s channels. It comes in three different versions (SMU Sw, SMU 8x2
and SMU 16x2) for different traffic capacities.
