5 System Overview
The SmartEdge 600 router is a carrier-class product with an architecture that
supports packetized traffic. It can be used as an edge aggregation router
and simultaneously as a broadband remote access server (BRAS) to directly
connect customers to the network. It supports a variety of interfaces and vital
services, such as routing protocols, quality of service (QoS), and inbound and
outbound access control lists (ACLs).
