Inspecting Fiber Ends
Fiber Inspection Probe 97
Using the Probe in Standalone Mode
Using the Probe in Standalone Mode
If you only need to have a quick status (pass or fail) for each fiber you
inspect, you can use the wireless probe without remaining connected to a
smart device. However, you will not have detailed information such as the
number of scratches and defects detected in each test zone. The pass or
fail status is based on the criteria you have set upon using the probe in
standalone mode.
Note: You cannot use the probe in standalone mode when testing multifiber
connectors.
Note: You cannot save the acquisitions performed in standalone mode.
As soon as the probe is in standalone mode, it is disconnected from the
ConnectorMax2 Mobile application. The probe remains in this mode even
if it is turned off and turned back on. To use your probe in association with
the smart device again, you need to establish a connection between the
probe and the ConnectorMax2 Mobile application. See Connecting or
Disconnecting the Wireless Probe on page 24 for details.
