Understanding Fiber Continuity
Understanding Fiber Continuity
The continuity in a fiber refers to the ability for each fiber of a multifiber
patchcord to conduct the light from one end to the other. With the Fiber
Inspection Probe at the receiving end, it is possible to determine on which
fibers discontinuities are found. An icon displayed on a red background
clearly identifies the fibers where discontinuities are found.
Note: The application does not analyze dark fibers even if they do appear in live
video mode.
You can choose to activate or deactivate the fiber continuity analysis
feature according to your needs. See Inspecting Multiple Fiber Ends
(MF-Ready Probes Only) on page 64 for details.
After the inspection is performed, the results are available as an image or
in a detailed table. See Analyzing Captures on page 83 for details.
