Section 4 Pilot’s Operating Handbook
Normal Procedures EXTRA 500
4.7.e Engine Start
Usually, “hot” starts will not occure if the normal starting
procedures are followed. A “hot” start is caused by excessive
fuel flow at normal engine RPM or normal fuel flow with
insufficient engine RPM. The latter is usually the problem by
attempting a start with low battery voltage.
Note If TOT is above 100°C prior to engine start, use the ENGINE
MOTORING switch to lower it. Observe starter limits, see
2.16.a -2.
