Floating connection
Under floating connection we understand screen-
ing concepts on INTERBUS in which the
electromagnetic interference is diverted on one
side via the screening of the bus cable and an
RC network to earth, and on the other side
earthed via the screening sleeve of a metal plug.
Any equalizing currents on the screen are
therefore prevented by the RC network.
Application
Floating connections are preferred where parts
of the installation are at great distances from
each other and where different earth potentials
and interference as a result of equalizing
currents or earth loops are to be expected.
