1.4.4 Alarm signaling.
If an alarm condition appears in Mini-Rack devices, the alarm relay generates a
signal and a corresponding LED is lit. In Sub-Rack devices LEDs are located on the rear
side of the shelf. On the MONITOR connector of Stand Alone devices, normally closed
(normally open) MINOR/MAJOR ALARM contacts close (open). The alarm relay can be
deactivated with the help of the <ACO ON> command in the terminal session. The
description of alarm relays and electric parameters of their contact are presented in
Appendix 2.
1.5 Е1 interfaces.
The multiplexer ensures receive/transmit of a digital E1 stream (2048 kbit/s
G.703/G.704) and time slot mapping on the V.35 interface and/or voice interfaces. The Е1
interface allows the operation of one of the following modes:
• PCM31 – a framed stream with a frame alignment. Any time slot, except the
zeroth one, can be mapped on the V.35 interface. CRC4 errors are not
estimated;
• PCM30 – a framed stream with a frame alignment and multiframe alignment.
Time slot No. 16 is used by CAS. Time slots 1 – 15 and 17 – 31 can be
mapped either on the V.35 interface or on one of the voice ports. CRC4 erors
are not estimated;
• PCM31C. This mode is similar to PCM31, but in this case, cyclic redundancy
check is performed by the CRC4 method;
• PCM30C. This mode is similar to PCM30, but in this case, cyclic redundancy
check is performed by the CRC4 method.
The modified operation mode of the interface provides mutual interchanging of time
slot No. 16 with any other time slot, except for TS No. 0. This feature can be used to
transmit signaling information over incomplete E1 channels, where the number of time slots
is less than sixteen. By default, the unused TSs at the output of E1 ports take 1 (one).
An RJ-45F (female) connector is used to couple E1 streams.
1.6 V.35 interface.
The multiplexer ensured mapping of the programmed number of time slots on the
V.35 port. A DB26F connector is used to connect the V.35 stream. The V.35 interface
always plays the role of a DCE. The clock (Nx64 Hz) is sent to circuits 114 and 115 of the
V.35 port. A clock from the E1 stream or from the internal clock source serves as a
reference clock.
