Using the FOXTEL iQ
The FOXTEL iQ has been manufactured to meet international safety
standards. To obtain the best results and operate the FOXTEL iQ safely it is
important that you read the safety instructions below.
If you have any doubts about the installation, operation or safety of the
FOXTEL iQ, please consult FOXTEL.
WARNING!
Contact with electrical connections can be lethal or can cause a
severe electric shock. To avoid this risk:
Never remove the top cover from the FOXTEL iQ or attempt to
open the external power supply adapter. There are no user-
serviceable parts inside, but there are some high-voltage live
parts.
Make sure all electrical connections are properly made.
Do not connect any equipment (FOXTEL iQ, TV, video recorder
etc.) to the power point until you have properly connected all
the other leads.
Disconnect the external power supply adapter from the power
point before you disconnect any equipment from the rear
panel of the FOXTEL iQ.
Never push anything into holes, slots or other openings in the
FOXTEL iQ case (except a FOXTEL smartcard into its proper slot).
CAUTION!
✔ To ensure a free flow of air around the FOXTEL iQ, allow at least
10cm of space above and around the FOXTEL iQ.
✔ If the FOXTEL iQ is placed with other items of audio/video equipment
in a cabinet, make sure all items have sufficient space all around
them, to allow ventilation and prevent overheating.
✘ Do not place the FOXTEL iQ in an unventilated cabinet or on top of a
unit which emits heat (e.g. a TV).
✘ Never stand the FOXTEL iQ on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not
cover any ventilation slots.
✘ Do not stack items of audio/video equipment in a crowded space.
✘ Do not use or store the FOXTEL iQ in hot, cold, damp or dusty places.
✘ Do not put anything on the FOXTEL iQ which might melt, drip or spill
into it. Never stand objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on top
of the FOXTEL iQ.
✘ Never place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on top of
the FOXTEL iQ.
✘ Do not pick up or otherwise move the FOXTEL iQ while it is connected
to the mains supply. If you want to move the FOXTEL iQ, first
disconnect it, then wait at least 30 seconds before continuing.
