4:3 Programme Display

Pillar Box * The whole of the picture displays, as if it were on a
standard TV, with black bars at either side of the picture.
14:9 The picture displays slightly enlarged, so it fills more
of the screen, but is slightly cropped at the top and
bottom. Note: some programmes are transmitted in a
14:9 format, with black borders included at the top and
bottom. In this case, only the transmitted borders are
cropped so you do not lose any of the TV picture.
Stretch The whole of the picture displays, stretched sideways to
fill your TV screen.
Video output PAL* If the system is connected via SCART-to-composite-video
leads, you should select this setting.
RGB If the system connected via SCART-to-SCART leads, you
should select this setting for a better quality picture.
S-Video For improved picture quality to S-Video equipment, such
as a video recorder, you may wish to select this setting.
YUV This setting gives improved picture quality to equipment
that supports component video (Y Cr Cb). If the system
is connected via SCART-to-component-video leads, you
should select this setting.
Banner timeout 1 sec,
5 secs*,

Select your preferred setting for the length of time
that the i-search banner displays on-screen when you
change channel.
Closed Captions On, Off * Select whether or not you want Closed Captions to be
displayed when they are available.
HDMI 4:3 Programme
Display
14:9* Zoom in to reduce black side bars when displaying a 4:3
picture on a 16:9 TV.
Stretch Stretches a 4:3 picture to fill a 16:9 TV Screen, will cause
the picture to appear distorted.
Pillar Box Displays 4:3 picture on a 16:9 television by putting black
bars either side of the picture.
HDCP Warning Settings All
Warnings*,

Determines when you receive onscreen notices
informing you of restrictions due to HDCP.
HDCP Status HDMI Off,
HDCP Successful,
HDCP Failed
This setting displays the results of the test for HDCP
support in your television via the HDMI connection.
