Solving problems
Problem Possible cause Suggested solution
The remote control
isn’t working.
Something is between
the remote control and
the FOXTEL iQ.
Make sure you point the remote control directly at
the FOXTEL iQ and that nothing is between it and
the FOXTEL iQ. The ir receive light on the FOXTEL
iQ’s front panel should flash each time you press a
remote button.
The batteries are flat
or inserted the wrong
way round.
Check the batteries and replace them if necessary.
The FOXTEL iQ may be
in ‘loop-through’ mode
because you pressed
the av button (see
page 74).
If you want to watch digital TV, press FOXTEL on
the remote control to return to viewing FOXTEL.
You can’t use the
FOXTEL remote
control to operate the
FOXTEL iQ.

There may be a
problem with your
telephone line.
Ensure that the iQ is connected to a working
telephone line. Check that you have a working
return path by going to channel 998, and after the
application loads select connect. If you receive a
red cross please recheck the connection between
the iQ and the telephone line and go back to
channel 998 and select connect. If you receive a
green tick but cannot access voting please check
that your phone is not barred for 1900 numbers.
If you receive a green tick but cannot order Box
Office titles please call FOXTEL on 131 999.
