Remove thecoverfromthe positiveterminal
on thedonor battery.

First,connectthe positiveterminal clampof
thejumper cables/charging cables to the
positiveterminal of theother vehicle's bat‐
tery.
#
With positiveterminal clamp 2 of the
jumper cable/charging cable,slide thered
protectivecap on jump-starting connection
1 backwithaclockwise turn.
#
Connect theother positiveterminal clampto
thepositiveterminal of jump-start connection
1.
#
During starting assistance: startthe engine
of thedonor vehicle and letitrun at idle
speed.
#
First, connect thenegativeterminal clampof
thejumper cable/charging cable to thenega‐
tivepole of thedonor battery.
#
Connectthe other negativeterminal clampof
thejumper cable/charging cable to aground
point on your ownvehicle (a baremetal part
in theengine compartment).
#
During starting assistance: startthe engine
on your ownvehicle.
#
When charging: startthe chargingprocess.
#
During starting assistance: letthe engine
runfor afew minutes.
#
During starting assistance: beforediscon‐
necting thejumper cable, switchonanelec‐
trical consumer on your ownvehicle, e.g. the
rear window heater or lighting.
When thestartingassistance/charging processis
complete:

Remove thejumper cables/charging cables
in reverseorder:first thenegativeclampfrom
theground point in theengine compartment,
then thenegativeclampfromthe donor bat‐
tery.Thenthe positiveclampfromthe posi‐
tiveterminal of jump-start connection 1,
then thepositiveclampofthe donor battery.
The redprotectivecap springs backtoits ini‐
tial position when positiveterminal clamp 2
is disconnected from jump-starting connec‐
tion 1.

pedal travel or blockadepressed pedal.
This jeopardizes theoperating and road
safetyofthe vehicle.

Stow all objectsinthe vehicle securely
so that they cannotget intothe driver's
footwell.
#
Ensurefloor mats and carpets cannot
slip and provide sufficient room forthe
pedals.
#
Do notlay multiple floor mats or carpets
on topofone another.
#
Switchoff all electrical consumers.
