4.6.7 Assembling the coreless screw and drive unit with gravity shaft
❒ Remove the screw, spacer washer and key from the end of the screw
❒
Grease the stub shaft
❒ Push the screw through the pipe from the top
❒ Assemble the drive unit and seal onto the hose with the tension ring
❒ Remove the inspection cover and seal from one side of the gravity shaft bracket
➥ this makes it easier to install the screw
❒
Insert the key between the gears and screw
➥ Ensure that the key groove the stub shaft is aligned with the key groove in the
gears - where required, rotate the screw in the ash transfer box or through the
inspection opening
❒ Attach the screw to the gears with the shaft retainer washer
❒ Replace the inspection cover and seal on the gravity shaft bracket
