► Place the board in suitable packaging.
► Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing" , Page 34).
Removing the heat sink
The shape and position of the heat sink are device-dependent.
► Open the casing (see "
Opening the casing", Page 33).
► Remove the hood from the heat sink.
► Disconnect any connected fan cables.
► Undo the screws on the heat sink.
► Lift the heat sink out of the casing.
You c an now replace the processor.
Replacing the processor
► Open the casing (see " Opening the casing", Page 33).
► Remove the heat sink (see "
Removing the he at sink", Page 76).
► Replace the processor as described in the m anua l for the mainboard.
► Install the heat sink again (se e "
Installing the heat sink", Page 76).
Do not touch the contacts o f the CPU socket!
► Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing" , Page 34).
Installing the heat sink
► Open the casing (see " Opening the casing", Page 33).
► Reinstall the heat sink so that the air flow is fed to ward s th e back of the
casing (see arrow on the heat sink).
► Tighten the screws.
► Fit the hood o n the heat sink.
► Reco nnect any fan cables.
Never attach or detach fans during operation. This can cause problems
controlling the mainboard fan.
