System expansions
Place the board in suitable packaging.
Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing" , Page 34).
Removing the heat sink
The shape and position of the heat sink are device-dependent.
Open the casing (see "
Opening the casing", Page 33).
Remove the hood from the heat sink.
Disconnect any connected fan cables.
Undo the screws on the heat sink.
Lift the heat sink out of the casing.
You c an now replace the processor.
Replacing the processor
Open the casing (see " Opening the casing", Page 33).
Remove the heat sink (see "
Removing the he at sink", Page 76).
Replace the processor as described in the m anua l for the mainboard.
Install the heat sink again (se e "
Installing the heat sink", Page 76).
Do not touch the contacts o f the CPU socket!
Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing" , Page 34).
Installing the heat sink
Open the casing (see " Opening the casing", Page 33).
Reinstall the heat sink so that the air ow is fed to ward s th e back of the
casing (see arrow on the heat sink).
Tighten the screws.
Fit the hood o n the heat sink.
Reco nnect any fan cables.
Never attach or detach fans during operation. This can cause problems
controlling the mainboard fan.
