7 Accessible drives
V CAUTION!
Observe the safety instructions in the chapter “Safety notes” on
page 13ff.
Two free 5.25-inch bays are available for accessible drives. These two bays can
also be used to install a hard disks extension box or double-height tape drives.
The third 5.25-inch bay is already occupied by a 3.5-inch x 1-inch floppy disk
drive. Above the floppy disk drive a slim line CD/DVD-ROM drive can be
installed.
7.1 Installing a slim line CD/DVD-ROM drive
Ê Open the server as described in the chapter “Preparation” on page 19ff.
Ê Remove the ventilation duct over the system fans (see page 32).

Ê Pull the locking tab of the CD/DVD-ROM dummy frame upward (see arrow)
and push the dummy frame out of the bay in direction of the front side.
