1.4.3 Laser safety
The aerosol spectrometer may only be opened by trained service personnel. Class 3B laser radiation
may be emitted if the laser unit is opened. The maximum output of class 3B lasers in continuous-wave
operation is 0.5 watts. Looking directly into the beam or a mirrored reflection can cause eye damage,
even with only a short exposure time.
Consult DIN EN 60825 for further information. The corresponding requirements of the Employer's Liabil-
ity Insurance Association Regulation (BGV) B2 “Laser Radiation” must be observed!
The warnings shown here are found on the underside of the device or directly in the device on the laser
holder, warning the user against laser radiation if the device is opened. Class 1 laser when the measur-
ing device is closed! Class 1 lasers are safe and not hazardous to the eyes, i.e. even in case of misuse
or with the use of optical devices (e.g. telescope, microscope etc.).
1.4.4 Electrostatic sensitivity
When exposed to high levels of electrostatic charges, the Mini-LAS restarts.
When operating the Mini-LAS, please take note of possible electrostatic sources and do not operate the
Mini-LAS in their vicinity. Special ESD-safe clothing is not required to operate the Mini-LAS 11-R.
Attention! Laser class 3B when the measuring device is opened!
