CONTROL/REMEDY
Air leak on suction line.
Incorrect assembly.
Filters clogging.
Pressure filters beginning to clog.
Air is being sucked into system.
Damaged diaphragm.
The fan has lost its counterweight.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Check if suction filter O-ring is sealing.
Check suction hose and fittings.
Check tightness of pump diaphragm and valve covers.
Check for missing agitation restrictor(s).
Make sure safety valve spring closes properly.
Check for obstructions near suction fitting in bottom of tank.
Clean all filters. Fill with cleaner water. If using powders, make
sure agitation is on.
Clean all filters.
Check tightness/gaskets/O-rings of all fittings on suction side.
Replace. See “Maintenance” section.
Take the fan to you dealer to have it re-balanced.
No spray from nozzles when turned on.
Lack of pressure.
Pressure dropping.
Pressure increasing.
Formation of foam.
Liquid leaks from bottom of pump.
Excessive noise or vibrations in the
blower unit
FAULT
Air in system.
Pump valves blocked or worn.
Nozzles worn.
Excessive liquid agitation.
The blower unit’s nuts are broken or worn.
Fill suction hose with water for initial prime.
Check for obstructions and wear.
Check flow rate and replace nozzles that exceed it by 10%.
Reduce pump r.p.m.
Check safety valve is tight.
Turn agitation off.
Use foam damping additive.
Replace or tighten the nuts.
Suction/pressure filters clogged.
Defective pressure gauge.
Tank is air tight.
Mechanical clutch chain worn.
Clean filters.
Check for obstructions near suction fitting in the bottom of
the tank.
Check pin in suction filter check valve. A bent pin can prevent
flow into the filter.
Check for dirt at inlet of gauge.
Check vent in tank lid is clear.
Replace the entire mechanical clutch assembly.
Sucking air towards end of tank load. Turn agitation off to empty the tank.
Common problems
Agitation nozzle is blocked. Check by opening, closing agitation. Clean if blocked.
The gear is not properly engaged. Put the gear lever in the correct position.Vibrations or noises in the gear box.
Oil level below minimum. Fill to proper level.
Worn gears, sprockets. Replace gears, sprockets.
