PUSHING WITH CALF SUPPORTS
Warning—Make sure the calf supports are securely locked in place before use. Injury and/or equipment
damage may occur.
To Adjust
1. Adjust the head of the bed to approximately 30°, by pressing
the Head Up control.
2. Place the patient’s legs on the calf supports.
3. The patient may pull back on her knees without the need for
the staff to assist her.
4. Lower the foot section if desired.
EPIDURAL/SPINAL (LATER AL APPROACH)
1. Lower and tuck away one siderail.
2. Position the bed to a comfortable height, and lower the head of
the bed.
3. Place the patient in a lateral recumbent position at the mattress
edge.
EPIDURAL (SITTING APPROACH)
1. Raise or lower the bed to a comfortable height for the staff, and
flatten the bed.
2. Have the patient dangle her legs over the opposite side of the
bed.
