3. Routine Inspection before Every Shift
15
Note: The power supply from the battery can be cut off completely or switched on with the
removable red key.
2. Ensure that all battery terminals and cables are secured and not damaged.
3. Inspect the battery for any signs of leaks.
4. If you detect any faults or non-compliance, refer to Troubleshooting chapter. Otherwise,
continue the routine inspection and go to the next procedure.
Caution: Turn off the battery disconnect switch if the tractor is not going to be used for
longer than six hours. Having the battery on during an extended period, may deplete or
damage the battery.
2. Checking tires
This routine procedure verifies that the tractor tires are in good condition.
To check the tires:
Warning: Failure to comply with the following guidelines could result in serious or fatal
injuries, and damage to the tractor and tires.
1. Verify that all four tires are the same size and type, e.g. agricultural, slope, all season M&S,
winter, soft track (terra tire), etc.
2. Verity that the type and size of the tires are appropriate for the operation. Do not exceed the load
capacity of the tires. Refer to the tire manufacture's specifications.
3. Inspect the tread and sidewall of all four tires for any damage, punctures or uneven wear. Do not
use damaged or worn out tires.
4. Ensure that the wheel nuts are not loose and have no signs of leaks around the wheel hub. If the
wheel nuts are loose, refer to Maintenance chapter.
5. If black wheel fenders or steel inner wheel fenders are installed, check them for damage and
ensure that they are secured.
6. Using a tire pressure gauge, check tire pressure on all four tires. All four tires must have the
same tire pressure.
7. Ensure that tire pressure is appropriate for the size and type of the tires, and the total tractor load.
Refer to the tire manufacture’s specifications and Tires section for correct pressure values.
Caution: Excessively high tire pressure creates a risk of explosion.
8. Adjust tire pressure if needed.
