Before removing a PTO shaft, ensure the following:
1. Tractor is parked on level ground with no inclination.
2. Tractor is stationary:
a. Drive direction switch is in neutral
b. Drive program switch is set to 0.
c. Parking brake is engaged.
3. For enhanced protection, secure the tractor with wedges if wedges are available.
4. Ensure that the PTO is disengaged, and the engine is off.
To remove a PTO shaft:
1. Remove the ignition key from the ignition.
Danger: Do not leave the cab until a PTO shaft stops rotating completely. Failure comply
could result in serious or fatal injuries.
2. Remove the PTO shaft guard chains.
3. Pull back the PTO shaft collar to release it from the locked position. Slide it off the PTO shaft
attached to the tractor PTO drive shaft, and remove the PTO shaft from the PTO drive shaft. The
PTO shaft stays with the attachment (Picture).
