Transferring data between local and third-party OPC points using OPC Integrator
Operator changes and controller initiated changes performed on other systems can be
transferred to Experion. Likewise, operator changes and controller initiated changes
performed in Experion can be transferred to other systems. OPC Integrator can have
bidirectional groups which are designed to transfer data in both directions, regardless of
where the change occurred.
In this topology, one of the systems has the role of master to prevent transfers going in to a
continuous loop.
This architecture supports Experion server redundancy and also supports redundancy for
remote OPC servers.
If your system has redundant third-party OPC servers, OPCI can be used to manage the
redundancy. However, Honeywell recommends that you use Redirection Manager when
communicating with redundant third-party OPC servers, as it can give better performance
during OPC server failover, because it builds OPC groups on both OPC servers.
