Messages
The calculator responds to certain conditions or keystrokes by displaying a
message. The

symbol comes on to call your attention to the message.

To clear a message, press

.

To clear a message and perform another function, press any other key.
If no message appears but
â
does, you have pressed an inactive key (a key that
has no meaning in the current situation, such as
3
in Binary mode).
All displayed messages are explained in appendix F, "Messages."
Calculator Memory
The HP 33s has 31K bytes of memory in which you can store any combination of
data (variables, equations, or program lines).
