Introduction
An Overview of the Front and Rear Panel
Inputs and Outputs
1 Standby Switch
NOTE: When the front panel switch is off, the Mainframe is in ’Standby’
mode. Disconnection from the AC Line Power is accomplished
only by disconnecting the power cord.
2 OUTPUT 1/2 - Signal outputs, channel 2 optional.
OUTPUT 1/2
- Differential signal outputs available with HP 81110A
with HP 81112A 3.8V/330 MHz Output channels installed.
3 TRIGGER OUT
A signal with rising edge marking the start of each pulse- period. For
further information refer to “Trigger and Strobe Output” on page 48.
4 STROBE OUT
• The Strobe output rises at the start of the first pulse-period and falls
at the start of the last pulse-period marking start and end of the burst
in Burst mode.
• Bitwise programmable in Pattern mode. NRZ data format.
• Not used in Pulses mode.
• For further information refer to “Trigger and Strobe Output” on
page 48.
5 EXT INPUT - Connect an external trigger or gate signal here, or use
EXT-WIDTH mode to perform pulse recovery.
NOTE: When rear panel option UN2 is ordered the connectors 2), 3), 4)
and 5) are at the rear panel.
6 PLL REF IN/CLK IN - Connect an external frequency reference or
clock signal here, if a higher frequency accuracy than 0.01% is
required, or if you need frequency locking.
7 Memory Card slot
