Initial Safety Information for the Tunable Laser

The 8168F is in a higher Laser Class (IIIb) than the 8167A and the 8168D and E
(all Class 1).
Earlier models
This manual can be also used for earlier tunable laser sources, that is, for
HP 8167A models with serial number prexes lower than 3424G, and for all
versions of the HP 8168A.
However, these earlier models have the following features:
Only internal modulation is possible.
The [
:SOURce
]
:AM:SOURce
command and the [
:SOURce
]
:AM:SOURce?
query
are not available.
The
CohCtrl Uncal
bit (Bit 7) in the questionable branch of the status
registers is not used.
Option 007, the Polarization Maintaining Fiber is available.
