Fibre Channel fabric rules
The following SAN fabric rules apply to all M-series SANs. They also apply, in general, to HP XP
Continuous Access and HP Continuous Access EVA configurations. However, additional rules apply
to HP Continuous Access implementations. See the HP StorageWorks Continuous Access EVA Planning
Guide for detailed information.
When using M-series switches in a fabric:
Use the HP default settings for all current HP switch models.
Legacy HP default settings and legacy Compaq default settings are the same for the same switch
models (see Table 60 through Table 62).
All switch and fabric rules apply to fabrics implemented with the switch firmware versions listed
in Table 60 through Table 62 and with HAFM 08.x.
