Sun Solaris SAN rules
This section describes the SAN rules for Sun Solaris.

Table 110 describes the SAN configuration rules for Sun Solaris. Table 111 describes support for
Sun Solaris multipathing coexistence.

• Zoning is required when Solaris is used in a heterogeneous SAN with other operating systems.
• Supports Veritas Cluster Server, Sun Cluster, and PRIMECLUSTER. Contact an HP storage

representative for version and storage system support. Not all storage system types are supported
on all cluster solutions.
• Each cluster must be in its own zone.
• Supports connection of single HBA servers.
• Supports multipathing high-availability configuration implemented in multiple fabrics or in a single
fabric with zoned paths.
• Requires a multipathing driver for active/active or active/passive failover with two or more paths.

• Retry count must be set to 10; entry in /kernel/drv/sd.conf must be set as follows:
SD-config-list=”HP MSA”,”retries-timeout: 10”

• Supports boot from SAN. For more information, see “EVA SAN boot support” on page 256 and “XP

• Requires MPxIO, Veritas Volume Manager DMP, or HDLM multipathing driver. For version support,
contact an HP storage representative. See Table 111 for multipathing coexistence support.
