5. Radio Features and Operations
5.1 Power Level
You can set the TX power level to high or low. High power enables communication with radios far away from
you but consumes more battery power. Low power enables communication with radios close to you and
saves battery power.
You can set the power level in one of the following ways:
In the control and notification center, tap the control widget of Power.
Press the preprogrammed Adjust power level key.
In trunking mode, tap , tap Power level on the Basic settings pane, and then tap Low or High.
In conventional mode, do as follows:
a.
Tap or , and then tap Zone.
b.
Select a digital or an analog channel, and then tap .
c.
Tap TX power, and then tap High or Low.
5.2 Scan
5.2.1 Conventional Mode
The Scan feature allows you to listen to activities on other channels, keeping track of your team members.
Enabling the scan feature
In the control and notification center, tap the control widget of Scan.
Press the preprogrammed Scan key.
Tap , and then enable Scan.
Switch to the channel configured with the Auto Scan feature.
With this feature enabled, the radio searches the scan list preset for the current channel and stays on the
active channel.
If you do not want to monitor activities on a channel, press the preprogrammed
Nuisance
delete
key to temporarily remove the channel from the scan list.
